Learn what is happening in Binney Park. We’ll begin with a brief business meeting at which the 2025 slate of officers and directors will be presented and voted on. (See video .)
A presentation by Dr. Greg Kramer on the trees of Greenwich including developing a digital inventory.
Guest panel discusses future protections in Greenwich Parks.
Q&A to follow.
Dr. Gregory Kramer, Superintendent of Parks & Trees and Greenwich Tree Warden, will share work that has been on-going regarding the development of a Town-wide digitized tree inventory. It is a great example of creating a management program of one of Greenwich's important assets.
Selectperson Janet Stone McGuigan will moderate a panel discussing the opportunities, complexities and challenges of protections of Town's assets. The panel will include Joseph Siciliano, Director Parks & Recreation; James Michel, the new Commissioner of Public Works; Beth Evans, Director of Environmental Affairs; and Andrew R. Melillo, Secretary to the Historic District Commission of the Town of Greenwich. The aim is to educate the public about protections as they can be applied to open space, buildings, and locations to name a few things. We hope to focus on what further protections can be applied to Binney Park, and other Town Parks, to prevent unwanted development or inappropriate uses of our parks.
